Dominion A TV Version Of Legion Leads a Bunch Of New Syfy Projects
Dominion get the green light while a 12 Monkeys TV show could also be on the way
Syfy has given the green light to a 90-minute pilot for Dominion , a TV series based on the 2010 Paul Bettany film Legion , while a TV version of 12 Monkeys is amongst the other projects that are on the verge of becoming reality.
Meanwhile, Syfy has four other series on the cusp of a green light, some of which, reckons Deadline , could all bypass the pilot stage and go straight to series if given the thumbs up.
One is another movie adaptation, 12 Monkeys , from writers Terry Matalas & Travis Fickett and director Jon Cassar and Atlas Entertainment. We’d like to get excited about this, but take the (considerable) Gilliam factor out of 12 Monkeys and the concept is pretty much The Terminator without the Terminator, and doesn’t Continuum fill that role rather well at the moment?
Clandestine , from actor-writer Todd Stashwick and artist Dennis Calero, is described as a swashbuckling space drama/adventure about mercenaries who masquerade as part of an intergalactic fleet.
Proof , from Marti Noxon ( Buffy The Vampire Slayer ) and M Night Shyamalan (something good once) is about the son of a billionaire tech genius who offers a large reward for anyone who can find proof of life after death (maybe they should stick around in the cinema after a showing of The Happening and see if anyone in the audience is still twitching).
Sojourn , from Phil Levens, Jason Blum and Lionsgate, is about a space detective tasked with investigating a murder on a starship.
