Drew Goddard to direct The Sinister Six
Confirmed for Spider-Man spin-off
Spider-Man spin-off The Sinister Six has found itself a director, with Heat Vision reporting that Drew Goddard has been officially confirmed in the role.
We already knew that Goddard would be writing the forthcoming film, but up until now, it had been unclear whether he would also be occupying the director’s chair.
The Sinister Six will deal with a group of Spider-Man’s (many) enemies, with the sextuplet in question comprised of Doctor Octopus, Electro, Sandman, Mysterio, Vulture and Kraven the Hunter.
Plot details are non-existent at this stage, although Sony’s Amy Pascal did recently reveal that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will begin to set up The Sinister Six , so hopefully clues will soon be at hand.
No release date has been attached to the project as yet, but industry speculation has the film arriving in 2017, sandwiched between the third and fourth Amazing Spider-Man films.
With a director now in place, hopefully that will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
