Duncan Jones shares plans for two Warcraft sequels
One major presence at this year's San Diego Comic-Con is Legendary, whose plans to commandeer Hall H on Saturday has tongues wagging that we might finally see the first trailer for Warcraft. Whether or not that transpires, there is still plenty to be excited about - the film's director Duncan Jones confirmed to reporters that post-production on the film is nearly finished. Oh, and he's got ideas for two sequels.
“We have pretty much a finished movie," Jones told io9. "I have under 10 VFX shots, which are being finished off right now. They need to be dropped into the movie but, we're kinda done.” To counter the arsenal of WETA-generated effects rendered for the beasties, the flick was pushed back and is now due to hit theaters in June 2016. Check out the full clip of Jones below:
As is often the case with blockbusters, if critics and fans agree the future looks bright for the franchise. "I don't think anyone's going to be disappointed with [Warcraft]," he adds. "If it goes well I’m pretty convinced that Chris Metzen from Blizzard and I have a very good idea of what story we could tell in three films given the opportunity."
Co-starring Ben Foster, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, Dominic Cooper, Daniel Wu and Clancy Brown, Warcraft opens in the UK on June 3, 2016 and the US on June 10.
