Dwayne Johnson teases first image of himself as Hercules
First look at Brett Ratner's period adventure
Dwayne Johnson has revealed the first image of himself as legendary hero Hercules, giving us a first look at Bret Ratner's swords-and-sandals epic, Hercules: The Thracian Wars .
The new image shows Johnson facing away from the camera, sporting a flowing hairpiece and with his many tattoos artfully covered up.

The new movie will pick up with Hercules having fallen on hard times, working as a mercenary and travelling to Greece to sell his services for cold, hard cash.
However, when the King of Thrace beseeches our hero to deliver his kingdom from a brutal warlord, it suddenly seems as though a quest worthy of his reputation has finally made its way to Hercules' door.
Directed by Ratner and co-starring Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell and Joseph Fiennes, Hercules: The Thracian Wars will open in the US on 25 July 2014, with a UK date to be confirmed.
