Dwayne Johnson to head up Baywatch movie
Sean Anders and John Morris will direct
Dwayne Johnson is about to step into the shoes of one David Hasslehoff, with THR reporting that the star is set to lead the forthcoming Baywatch movie.
Paramount is stepping things up on the Baywatch front, having also appointed Horrible Bosses 2 co-helmers Sean Anders and John Morris to direct the film.
Justin Melan has also been brought on board to rewrite the existing script, with the project having spent the last couple of years in development limbo.
A previous script had been thought to revolve around a drug smuggling operation disrupted by a spate of shark attacks, although the plot direction of the current iteration has yet to be disclosed…
In any case, Johnson certainly has the physique, charisma and willingness to send himself up to make this a more intriguing proposal than had previously been anticipated. All together now… “Some people stand in the darkness…”
