Dwayne Johnson will star in Robert Ludlum adaptation
Set to head up The Janson Directive
Dwayne Johnson is set to star in a new Robert Ludlum adaptation, with Universal casting him as the lead in The Janson Directive .
The film will follow Johnson as former consular ops agent Paul Janson, who has become a private security consultant, having grown uncomfortable with the number of contract killings required by his old employers.
However, when he’s commissioned to rescue a kidnapped billionaire, Janson’s botched operation soon lands him on the government’s hit-list, and our hero is forced to go on the run…
Oscar-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman is currently writing a script, with Universal thought to be keen to fashion the film into the first of a Bourne -esque series.
No release date has been set as yet, but with Johnson now officially on board, expect the wheels to begin turning on this one over the coming weeks…
