Dynasty Warriors 8 strikes in July
Tecmo Koei's historical standby returns
Dynasty Warriors 8 will release in Europe and North America on July 12 and 16 respectively. The prolific semi-historical brawler series will appear again on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and chances are you already know if you're going to buy it.
More than 70 characters (not to mention like a billion nameless soldiers) will fight across 40 new stages of city and countryside in the Three-Kingdoms-romancing story mode. New "What If?" scenarios will explore alternative historical happenings--like how crazy would it be if Yue Jin died at the battle of Xiaoyao Ford... or maybe if he lived? Our ancient Chinese history is rusty.
The July release will include both English and Japanese voiceovers and subtitles in English, French, and German. We didn't like Dynasty Warriors 7, but if you're still a fan of the series the heck do you care what we think?

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
