Chicago Blackhawks player Patrick Kane was set to star as the coverman (alongside teammate Jonathan Toews) for NHL 16, but EA Sports has decided to pull him from both the cover and "promotional activities." Here's what the official Twitter account for EA Sports NHL posted yesterday:

The ongoing investigation referred to in the tweet began after allegations of sexual assault were brought against Kane earlier this month. (As of this writing, Kane has not been arrested nor charged.)
NHL 16 will not be delayed beyond its targeted September 15 release date due to the removal. EA Sports has adopted a new cover, this time featuring Toews alone:
