Eddie Murphy says he wont do Beverly Hills Cop 4 unless the script is incredible
Beverly Hills Cop 4 has been in the works for a little while now, with Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec having penned a script, Brett Ratner in place to direct and Eddie Murphy expected to reprise his starring role.
However, Murphy has been discussing the project with Rolling Stone, and apparently things aren’t quite as cut and dried as all that, with the star insisting he will only return if the script blows him away…
“They’re still trying to get that script right,” explains Murphy, when asked for an update on the project’s status. “I’m not doing a Beverly Hills Cop unless they have a really incredible script.”
“I’ve read a couple things that look like they can make some paper,” he continues. “But I’m not doing a shitty movie just to make some paper. The shit got to be right.”
Sounds like there is still work to be done on this one, although the original release date is still in place, with the film scheduled to hit screens on 25 March 2016.
