Elijah Wood to make a cameo in The Hobbit?
Rumours say yes
Elijah Wood could be joining the confirmed likes of Cate Blanchett in making a cameo in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit two-parter.
Though his character doesn’t appear in J.R.R. Tolkien’s original tome (just like Blanchett’s Galadriel), it appears that Jackson is keen for the actor to make a continuity-aiding cameo in the new films.
With other casting talk linking Orlando Bloom to the film (another stray from the literary original), as well as the necessary but as yet unconfirmed additions of Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis, the Hobbit casting people are really working overtime as they prepare for the films.
Other happenings behind the scenes include the announcement that Warner Bros. will be handling the worldwide distribution of the films, and will cover their budget – reportedly a whopping $500m.
The Hobbit: Part One should open in December 2012.
