Confirmed: Elizabeth Banks will direct Pitch Perfect 3
Aca-awesome news for fans of the Pitch Perfect films, with Variety reporting that Elizabeth Banks has officially signed on to direct the third film in the series. The second film was Banks’ first directorial gig and having seen her steer it to box office success to the tune of $286 million worldwide, Universal is more than happy to give her the reins once more.
Crucially, Kay Cannon is also back on board to write the script, having penned both the first two films. In front of camera, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Britanny Snow are all locked in to appear, with further cast returnees expected to be announced in due course.
No plot details have been disclosed at this stage, save for the fact that we’ll be back in the world of competitive a capella. Who knew it would be box office gold?
