Emilia Clarke set to star as Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genesis
Beats Brie Larson to the role
Terminator: Genesis has found its Sarah Connor, with Deadline confirming that Emilia Clarke has been cast as the Skynet-battling heroine.
Clarke has been reported to be in a straight head to head with Brie Larson for the role, with Clarke eventually winning out.
Larson was thought to be the studio’s pick, but Alan Taylor had championed his Game Of Thrones collaborator’s credentials, and the director appears to have got his way.
Clarke will likely line up alongside Jason Clarke, who is currently in negotiations to play John Connor, a part that had initially been earmarked for Tom Hardy.
With Arnold Schwarzenegger also confirmed to be returning to the role that made his name, Terminator: Genesis will open in the US on 1 July 2015, with a UK date to be confirmed.
