Elrond questions the influence of the rings in an exclusive new look at The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power revealed during the Future Games Show at Gamescom.

Ahead of The Rings of Power Season 2, which premieres on August 29 exclusively on Prime Video, Amazon has unveiled new footage. Focusing on Elrond and his skepticism about the Elves' new rings, the video wastes little time in reminding viewers that Sauron has returned, and threatens all Middle-Earth.

As Sauron's influence grows, first among the Elves - including another familiar face from the first season, Galadriel - and then among the Dwarves - Elrond begins to doubt their true nature, calling for them to be destroyed even as his friends become enticed by them. As Sauron's plans begin to plunge Middle-Earth into chaos, Elrond calls on his old friend, Durin, prince of the Dwarves, to fight alongside him.

After all, it's not just Sauron who's a threat. Another figure, Adar, is planning to take the fight directly to the Elves, and the action hots up as Elrond, Durin, and their allies attempt to fight back against these two epic villains. Elrond shows up in plenty of fights, leading his forces from the front and slaying foes in a desperate battle amid a chaotic siege. But even his best efforts might not be enough in the face of an enemy as calculating as Sauron - even as the Elven forces close in, there's a definite sense that the Dark Lord has plenty of tricks up his sleeve in Season 2.

Whether you're a Lord of the Rings expert, or a newcomer to Tolkein's iconic fantasy world, The Rings of Power offers something for everyone, from action to psychological thrills and plenty more. Returning for Season 2 in just a few days' time, now is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in this epic.
