The Ides Of March's Evan Rachel Wood talks sex scandals

The Ides Of March actress Evan Rachel Wood believes that skeletons in politicians closets shouldn't be rattled by the media and that sex scandals are "natural".

"One of the best lines in the movie is, 'You can start a war, you can bankrupt a country but you can't sit with the interns.' That's the wake-up call. We make such a big deal about these sex scandals, which are actually the most natural things in the world and everyone has skeletons in their closet and it actually shouldn't matter at all. I don't want to know. People can do whatever they want with themselves and that's fine. It has nothing to do with the way you conduct yourself at your job," Wood said.

She also revealed that the cast of the political thriller had a blast shooting the film and that was all thanks to director George Clooney.

"They're all different but I really like working with directors who are actors because you speak the same language. That's one of the reasons George was so amazing - he knew exactly what to say to get what he wanted. And he made sure everyone was having a great time. I think he knows that if your cast and crew are happy then you're going to get good work. That's actually really rare. But that's why I loved working with him," Wood said.

And when it came to prep she didn't go all method and hang out with political campaign staff, relying on information hand picked by Clooney instead.

"George gave us a lot of material and documentaries to watch that was more behind the scenes on the campaign trails with the press and the interns so that was my way into that world," she said.
