EverQuest coming to the big screen
The fantasy video game gets adapted
It’s been one of the most popular multiplayer games for eight years and Sony has wanted to make it into a movie for almost as long, but now EverQuest might actually finish its journey into cinemas.
300 writer Michael Gordon’s writing an adaptation of the game series, which first arrived on consoles in 1999 before being bested by a massive-selling sequel in 2004. It was the ruler of the multiplayer world until a little title called World Of Warcraft happened along.
In the game, you create a character and wander about the world of Norrath, working alongside other players to quest for treasure and battle beasts. There’s no word on what the plot of the movie will be, but we’re guessing fantasy characters banding together to fight beasts. Yeah, we’re psychic.
