Every Star Wars movie is coming to digital HD this Friday
Ahead of the launch of a brand new Star Wars trilogy in December, Disney and Lucasfilm are releasing the entirety of the franchise’s back catalogue this Friday. For the first time fans will be able to own every instalment from Episode I to Episode VI in Digital HD.
The collection will be made available as a whole and as individual films via the usual online outlets including Amazon, iTunes, Google Play and XBox Video. Both the original trilogy that kickstarted with 1977’s Episode IV: A New Hope, and the final trilogy that concluded with 2005’s Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith, will be jam-packed with never-before-seen extras. Those include two documentaries; Star Wars: Discoveries from Inside and Conversations, as well as 40 brand new deleted scenes from across the entire six movies.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy couldn’t be more excited to be ushering in these sparkly new editions:
“We’re thrilled that fans will be able to enjoy the Star Wars saga on their digital devices wherever they go," she said in an official statement on StarWars.Com. "These films broke new ground in technology, design, sound, and visual effects, and we’ve created some very special bonus material which delves into the saga’s rich history, including new and never-before-released conversations between legendary Star Wars artists — the masters who helped George bring his iconic universe to life.”
