Everybody's Gone to the Rapture announced by Dear Esther dev
They chose to build Rapture
The developer behind the highly lauded free Source mod Dear Esther, known as thechineseroom, announced today that they are currently working on a new title called Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, and as you might expect it sounds pretty bizarre.
So far they've shown off only a few images which can be found at Beefjack, to whom thechineseroom spilled the beans. It looks to be a rather lonely, open world experience with only six characters who may not actually truly exist.
"They're almost kind of memory traces of people that were there," Pinchbeck said. "How we represent them, and whether we do full-on character builds or whether we do something more symbolic, we're still kind of chewing around with."
The game will reportedly end after 60 minutes of play time, while the game world takes around 20 minutes to traverse from end-to-end. They said they're hoping this encourages players to play over and over, looking to find out what they missed.
