General & Assault Tips
Up Up and Away
Map: Any
Hunters: Any
Sometimes the best way to avoid an otherwise deadly attack is to jetpack dodge straight up! This can be particularly useful to escape attacks such as Goliath's Charge or Wraith's Abduction.
Rescue Heroes
Map: Any
Hunters: Val (Medic) & Hank (Support)
When playing Rescue mode pick Val and Hank, so they can shield and heal the survivors from a distance while heading to the dropship.
Tempting Treats
Map: Any
Hunters: Abe (Trapper) & Lazarus (Medic)
If you're having trouble tracking down the Monster, don't be afraid to litter the ground with tasty treats for them - pre-killed wildlife is faster to eat on the run. Shoot the corpses with Abe's Tracking Dart, as dead or alive any darted critter will give away the Monster's position once ingested. If the Monster catches on to your tricks you can always dart the animals while still alive, or have Lazarus bring them back to life.
Combo Buffer
Map: Medlab
Hunters: Any
Sometimes it's much better to have a mix of Buffs in a level. For example, on Medlab there is a possibility to encounter an Elite Steamadon and an Elite Venom Hound. Assault and either Support or Trapper (depending on which characters are used) would want the Elite Steamadon (Slow Target) Buff while the Medic would be better taking the Elite Venom Hound (Poison Target) Buff. As long as the Assault is doing damage, the monster will be slowed, while the Medic can shoot the Monster once every 10 seconds to keep the poison active.
Fire Shroud
Map: Any
Hunters: Hyde (Assault)
If allies become cloaked, Hyde should distract the Monster by spewing flames between the Monster’s line of sight and cloaked Hunters. Do this by spreading fire either above the Monster’s head, or right onto allies to cover up any visible distortion from the cloaking field that might give them away. If a Monster is catching on to this, you may be able to shoot fire into a different area and trick them into believing your allies are going there instead.
Mine Shield
Map: Any
Hunters: Markov (Assault)
Arc mines can sometimes serve as a useful point for Hunters to run to. If Goliath throws a rock, it can detonate the rock - blocking the damage and just knocking you back. If a Monster chases you into a mine, they will take damage, turning the area into a scary place for them.
Rocket Jump
Map: Any
Hunters: Parnell (Assault)
While the effect is very minimal, Parnell’s rockets do have some knock back force for Hunters, so it is possible to gain an extra metre of high distance to rocket jump up and allow you to start a jetpack boost from slightly higher off the ground.
