Executive producer talks Guardians Of The Galaxy
Discusses plans for Groot and Rocket Raccoon
With Chris Pratt in line for the leading role of Star-Lord, James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy seems to be beginning to make tangible progress. However, question marks still remain over how the comic’s more “colourful” characters will be presented.
We’re talking of course about Rocket Raccoon and Groot, the humanoid tree. All we’ve heard so far is that Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey have been linked to the roles, but now executive producer Victoria Alonso has shed some more light on what we can expect from the fan favourites.
“You can’t do any motion capture with a raccoon,” jokes Alonso. “They won’t let you put the suit on! But we will do rotomation, probably, for some of the behaviour. Rocket will have his own personality, of course.”
“Clearly we can’t do mo-cap on a tree,” she continues, “but we definitely will have performers to emulate what James Gunn will lead to be the behaviour and the performance. He’s very clear on where he wants to take the characters.”
Expect more info and some further casting announcements in due course. Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
