Mirror's Edge Catalyst isn't just about our tattooed heroine Faith, it's also about the city of Glass - a bustling near-future metropolis where multiple groups jockey for power. A new developer diary for the game highlights how level designers, artists, and narrative designers come together to make Glass feel like a character in its own right.
It's quite the change from the original Mirror's Edge, where the city served more as pretty scenery or an industrial playground for your parkour skills. I particularly liked seeing people populating the areas shown off in the video; the city of the first game could often feel hollow or abandoned, despite its massive size.
Seems like developer DICE is running in the right direction. We'll see if it pays off when Mirror's Edge Catalyst launches for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on May 24.
