Fez: The game XBLA has been waiting for finally gets release date and sweet price

Good news. Delicious-looking indie game Fez has finally got a release date. It's going to be hitting Xbox Live Arcade on Friday 13 April. More good news. It's priced at 800 Microsoft Points, which in understandable straightforward currency translates as $10 or £6.85 or 9.60 Euros. If Fez is as delicious to play as it is delicious to look at, then that is a very sweet price indeed.

If you've never heard of Fez... well, that's surprising because it's been in development at indie dev Polytron for a very long time (i.e. around 5 years) and has won a bunch of awards and has generally been loved by anyone that's seen it during that time. It's an 8-bit styled 2D/3D platformer with a little white dude in a hat (it's a magical fez) which is way too small for his head and the little white dude is called Gomez and he has to explore the world and collect pieces of a hexahedron and look adorable.

Get an altogether better idea of what Fez is all about by watching the video below of it being played at this year's GDC:

We are excited about Fez. Are you excited about Fez?
