FFV's Gilgamesh throws his hat in the Dissidia sequel ring

As the Dissidia sequel (don't make us type out the full name) releases in Japan in a couple weeks, there isn't much more time for new surprise character announcements. Nevertheless, details have just surfaced on the appearance of the ominous enemy Gilgamesh from Final Fantasy V.

The news was broken via a promotional poster that Square Enix sent out to Japanese retailers. However, some eagle-eyed players had already spotted the creature in a recent trailer, so it's not a complete surprise.

According to some new hot dish in Shonen Jump magazine, timed to correspond with the posters, Gilgamesh's weapon will constantly change each time it is used. No further information was disclosed.

The game's official title is Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy, but, as mentioned, we prefer to just call it 'the Dissidia sequel,' or maybe 'Dissidia 012.' In addition to all the classic FF characters like Cloud, Sephiroth, and Squall, the sequel adds in new characters including Vaan and Lightning, as well as more legacy heroes, including Tifa and Kain.

With the Japanese version releasing on March 3rd, there can't be too many more reveals, but that doesn't mean there aren't more surprises still hidden in the game. We'll just have to wait and see.
