FFXIII-2 special editions and pre-order incentives revealed, for PAL eyes only
Square Enix details its UK FFXIII-2 treats
European Final Fantasy XIII-2 fans now have two new ways to take home Square Enix's RPG sequel. Today, the studio announced a pair of new FFXIII-2 special edition packages, the Limited Collector's Edition and the Crystal Edition; both of which will be exclusive to PAL territories.
Those who choose the Limited Collector's Edition will be treated to a fancy package containing “The Art of Final Fantasy XIII-2” artbook, a soundtrack CD compiled by the game's development team, six FFXIII-themed postcards, and a lenticular art print of Lightning.
The Crystal Edition also contains these goodies, but includes a greatly expanded four-disc Final Fantasy XIII-2 Original Soundtrack plus an exclusive FFXIII-2 t-shirt. It too will be packed in a box that clearly says, “I have a much more expensive game collection than my friends.”
Today's announcement also included details on the European pre-order incentives. They include a Unique Noel Weapon DLC, offering a special downloadable weapon for the character Noel; and the Pre-Order Bonus Pack, offering alternative costumes for Serah and Noel; a Final Fantasy XIII Episode 1 novella; three lithograph artcards; and the opportunity to fight and recruit Omega to your team. The pack will ship with a steel-book case, and is reported to be exclusive to UK's GAME stores.
Both the special editions and bonus incentives are available for pre-order now. Final Fantasy XIII-2 is slated to the UK on February 3, 2012, with North American audiences getting a crack at it a few days earlier on January 31, 2012.
