Fifth Terminator film planned
Looks like Salvation’s leading to more
Terminator Salvation production company Halcyon claims it is developing a fifth outing for the franchise, with helmer McG contributing.
At the Dubai International Film Festival, producers Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek told Variety that they’d like to have the film out by 2011.
Apparently, while they’d always envisaged a trilogy, the pair had planned to wait and see how Salvation performed before committing to developing the rest of the story. But the fan and critical reaction to the footage so far has convinced them to kick off work on another tale of man vs. machines.
“Time to start shaping the next part”
"We feel the time is now to start shaping the next part of this," Kubicek says.
There’s no word yet on whether McG will direct – though he seems pretty committed so far.
After seeing what he’s done so far, we’d welcome more of the same – provided the rest of Terminator Salvation lives up to what we’ve seen so far.
Oh, and don't forget that Total Film's current issue features the greatest Terminator cover ever and exclusive new shots. You know you want it...
