Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales - first hands-on
Can the grace and dignity of the majestic Chocobo be captured in a series of minigames?
The card battling system is easy to pick up and surprisingly fun. A good mixture of skill and luck, the card battles are simple enough for a younger kid to pick up and play, yet still satisfying for older players, partly because of the cool papery art style and classic Final Fantasy fanservice. FF fans will recognize many of the summons, like Ifrit, Odin and Phoenix, to name a few.
The system works by matching attacks and guards of the same color. When you make a successful attack with a certain color, your crystal points for that color will increase. Certain cards require a set number of crystal points to unleash powerful attacks, many of which inflict status effects as well.
We're looking forward to what else this "book" has in store for us, so stay tuned for an in-depth preview soon.
