WWE 2K17 roster adds Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor, Apollo Crews and Nia Jax
2K have announced a cool-sounding NXT Edition of upcoming 'rasslefest WWE 2K17 – which includes three playable characters completely new to the series.
Apollo Crews, Nia Jax, and – most excitingly of all – Shinsuke Nakamura will all be making their company videogame debuts this year, and come included as part of the NXT Edition at no extra cost. (I also expect them to be released as paid-for DLC, given that they collectively form something called the 'NXT Enhancement Pack'.)
The company hasn't explicitly confirmed Finn Balor's inclusion, but the NXT Edition contains a collectible eight-inch statue of the demonic Irishman pictured above – and there's exactly zero chance of 2K going to such lengths for a grappler who isn't on the in-game roster.
The NXT Edition is exclusive to PS4 and Xbox One, and limited to 50,000 copies worldwide. It'll set you back $99.99/€99.99/£79.99 and is exclusive to GameStop in the Republic Of Ireland, and Game in the UK.
In addition to those in-game characters and the Balor figure, purchasers each score an exclusive lithograph signed by Nakamura, a Topps NXT Takeover London mat relic card (with a piece of the ring canvas from last year's big UK show), a 50 per cent MyCareer points boost, and the previously announced Goldberg pack.
In an joint interview with GamesRadar, Nakamura and WWE executive vice president Triple H teased two other possible roster candidates for WWE 2K17 when revealing who each would most like to see their character square off against in a videogame.
"Andre The Giant," said Nakamura. "I think a lot of guys would say Andre The Giant, just from growing up and being in awe of him," continued Triple H. "Harley Race would be another guy, for me."

I'm GamesRadar's sports editor, and obsessed with NFL, WWE, MLB, AEW, and occasionally things that don't have a three-letter acronym – such as Chvrches, Bill Bryson, and Streets Of Rage 4. (All the Streets Of Rage games, actually.) Even after three decades I still have a soft spot for Euro Boss on the Amstrad CPC 464+.
