Fire Emblem Fates has two versions, one release date
When Fire Emblem Fates is released on February 19, 2016, the tough decisions will start before you even buy it. Along with the release date, Nintendo confirmed that the game will release in two different versions: Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright, and Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest.
Both versions will tell two sides of the same story, and both will cost $39.99 as a physical or digital purchase. Once you make your choice, you can buy the other version as DLC for $19.99. Nintendo plans to release a third part called Revelation sometime after launch, which you'll want to play once you're thoroughly immersed in Fates' story of friendship and filial obligation.
If you already know you want it all, you can pick up Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition for $79.99. On top of bundling together all three versions, it also includes an artbook and a special pouch.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
