First image and new title for Star Trek 3
Justin Lin has raised the curtain on Star Trek 3, revealing the first image from the production and confirming what we assume is the threequel's official title, Star Trek Beyond.
The director tweeted an image of a Starfleet patch, complete with the "United Federation Of Planets" slogan. "Let the next Starfleet voyage begin!" said the director in an accompanying caption, cranking excitement levels up to warp speed.

As for that title, Simon Pegg had previously hinted that this would be the film's new moniker, and while Paramount have yet to formally confirm it, we'd imagine it's pretty much set in stone. And give yourself a pat on the back if you deciphered that second hashtag…
Directed by Lin and co-starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Simon Pegg, Star Trek Beyond will open in the US on 8 July 2016. A UK date has yet to be confirmed.
