First look at Brad Pitt in Cogan's Trade
Star teams up with Andrew Dominik again for adaptation
After some dodgy leaked pap shots, we've finally laid our eyes on the first official image of Brad Pitt in Cogan's Trade .
The megastar (and pretty fine actor to boot) looks the part as a mob enforcer, complete with leather jacket, slicked back hair and a shotgun.
Based on the novel of the same name by George V. Higgins, Cogan’s Trade stars Pitt as Jackie Cogan, a guy under the protection of the mob who is given the task of investigating a heist that happens during a high stakes poker game.
Working with Pitt, the impressive cast includes Ray Liotta, Javier Bardem, Casey Affleck and Sam Rockwell.
By the look of it, the film will have a grittier feel than Dominik’s elegiac last outing, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford .
The director is said to be returning to the manic energy of his scintillating debut Chopper for this crime flick.
The Weinstein Company have the rights to the film, and although there is no official release date yet, it’s likely to be released in late 2012.
