First official images arrive for Quentin Tarantinos The Hateful Eight

Following on from last month’s brief teaser trailer, a gallery of brand new images for Quentin Tarantino’s next feature The Hateful Eight has arrived online via EW. While that initial trailer - more of a tonal appetiser - kept its main cast out of sight, this first crop of photos hones in on some of the titular posse.

Tarantino’s eighth movie picks up ten years after the American Civil War. In the midst of snow storm a beleaguered bunch of outlaws, bounty hunters and fugitives find themselves thrown together as they seek refuge at a stagecoach stopover in the mountains.

The prolific cast includes many familiar faces who have previously worked with the legendary helmer, alongside a smattering of Tarantino newbies. And judging by the expressions on their faces the filmmaker’s latest effort will be a bloody, action-packed affair. You can check out a selection of the images above.

The Hateful Eight is expected to open later this year.
