First official synopsis arrives for The Fantastic Four
The first official synopsis has appeared online for Josh Trank's The Fantastic Four reboot, which gives a brief outline to what we can expect from the new film.
While Toby Kebbell recently spilled some of the finer details about his character (a reworked version of Doctor Doom, who is now a cyber-terrorist), this official blurb keeps things on the vague side when it comes to the plot:
"The Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centres on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways."
"Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy."
Not a huge amount to latch onto there, apart from the teleporting detail, which suggests a break from the traditional origin story in which the team's powers were created by gamma ray exposure.
Directed by Trank and co-starring Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Miles Teller and Jamie Bell, The Fantastic Four will open in the UK on 6 August 2015, before opening in the US the following day.
