First promo posters for Sin City 2 and Machete Kills

Sin City 2 and Machete Kills , the forthcoming projects from Robert Rodriguez, have both released their first promotional material in the form of a pair of cool new teaser posters.

First up, we have the one-sheet for Machete Kills , which harks back to the film's grindhouse origins with a scuzzy, peeling image spattered with blood and miscellaneous grime. You can just picture it hanging outside a dingy fleapit cinema, giving passing gorehounds the come-on...

The poster for Sin City 2 is a far more stylish affair, making great play of the film's A Dame To Kill For subtitle, alongside a host of visual cues reminiscent of the first film. Monochrome background... check. Flash of blood-red foreground colouring... check. Driving rain... check.

Machete Kills will be the first to film, with Rodriguez having added a number of new cast members in recent weeks including Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard and Michelle Rodriguez. Oh, and then there's Mel Gibson, of course. Sin City 2 will come along shortly after, although Rodriguez has suggested he could delegate some filming on Machete , should he need to make his schedule work.

Both films are expected to arrive in 2013. In the meantime, you can feast your eyes upon both posters, below...
