First teaser image for Marvel's Iron Fist confirms Finn Jones will play Danny Rand
Late last month, we reported that Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones had won the role of Iron Fist in Marvel's upcoming Netflix series, and now Marvel have made it official. The confirmation comes via Marvel's Twitter account, which posted an image of a memo addressed to Joy Meachum - one of the supporting characters in the show - asking "Who is Danny Rand?". Check it out below...

Marvel's statement gives us a little more information as to how the show will portray its titular character, courtesy of showrunner Scott Buck; "Danny Rand is a billionaire New York Buddhist monk martial arts superhero who’s still trying to figure out what exactly that all means. Finn is able to play all these levels in such an honest, revelatory way that as soon as I saw him I knew he was our Danny."
Marvel TV head honcho Jeph Loeb added that "Finn wonderfully blends confidence with vulnerability, making him the perfect choice as he struggles to find his place in the world." In the comics, Rand was best friends with Luke Cage, who has his own solo series that will debut on Netflix September 30. That could be the ideal time for Marvel to tease audiences on Iron Fist before his own solo series next year.
Starring Finn Jones, a release date for Iron Fist is yet to be announced.
