First trailer and poster arrive for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

The first trailer for YA sequel Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials has arrived online along with a new poster, both of which zero in on the post-Maze experiences of the young Gladers.

After last year’s The Maze Runner made a splash in cinemas, a second outing was sent into production based on the second book in James Dashner’s trilogy. The sequel picks up where the first outing left off, following Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his ragtag bunch of comrades as they navigate life outside of the maze. Check out the first glimpse below:

Nice to see Littlefinger’s scheming isn’t restricted to Westeros, as Game Of Thrones’ Aiden Gillen takes on the role of villain Rat Man. One of many baddies the youngsters come up against, he is pretty innocuous in comparison to the perils of ‘the scorch’. That torched wasteland makes the maze seem positively pleasant...

Directed by Wes Ball and co-starring Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Giancarlo Esposito and Patricia Clarkson, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials opens in the UK on September 17 and the US on September 18.
