First trailer arrives for Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2
After a promo teaser hit the web earlier this year - mainly consisting of recycled footage - Lionsgate has now issued the first trailer proper for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2. The closing chapter of the post-apocalyptic teen thriller finds Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and her team of loyal anti-Capitolists battling against the tyranny of President Snow’s reign.
Along with her band of supportive warriors Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Finnick (Sam Claflin) the girl on fire aims to take out the treacherous Capitol leader once and for all. Whereas Mockingjay - Part 1 took time establishing the events which would lead to the inevitable battle for PanEm - this IS that fight. Take a look at the first teaser below:
“Snow has to pay for what he’s done,” intones Katniss, to prepare us for the inevitable bloodshed that’s in store. If the first part of Mockingjay was too light on the action, then the fight for PanEm’s freedom looks to be the complete opposite; falling cities, tidal waves of black goo, and an ominous threat from Snow. Who will be the victor in this final game? Our money’s on the archer...
Directed by Francis Lawrence, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 opens on 19 November 2015. The cast also includes Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Natalie Dormer, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland.
