First trailer for Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters: watch now
“Me and my sister... we have a past”
The first trailer has gone online for Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters , in which Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton play the fairytale double-act as a pair of grown-up badasses with “a taste for blood... witch blood.”
The film sees the duo reimagined as a pair of freelance witch-hunters, called in to help a stricken village, the children of which are being snatched by Famke Janssen’s fearsome old crone.
That’s pretty much as far into the plot as the trailer is willing to delve, with the rest of the time dedicated to Hansel and Gretel kicking all manner of arse, from uppity villagers to blood-curdling witches.

While Jeremy Renner seems to be as charismatic as ever, we’ve got a few concerns about this one, with some extremely clunk dialogue on display as well as some slightly shoddy FX work. Everything looks a touch too Van Helsing for our liking, although hopefully we’ll be proved wrong by the finished article.
Directed by Tommy Wirkola and co-starring Peter Stormare and Zoe Bell, Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters opens in the UK on 15 March 2013. In the meantime, you can check out the first poster for the movie, below...
