Flight Of The Conchords will be heard in Toy Story 3
Kristen Schaal is mystery Pixar character
Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich has announced that Kristen Schaal will voice an as-yet-undisclosed character in Pixar's latest.
As he explains in the video below, you might know her best as stalkerish fan Mel in The Flight Of The Conchords, but she's also cropped up occasionally on The Daily Show.
Unkrich refuses to elaborate on which character she's playing, but he's right - she's a very funny woman and continues the Pixar tradition of casting people who are talented yet not superstars.
The director also mentioned that Slinky Dog has a new voice - albeit one that sounds nearly identical to the late Jim Varney, who originated it.
Actor - and longtime friend of Varney - Blake Clark has taken over the vocal chores for the stretchy pooch.
Finally, in news more likely to please US readers than those at home, the double bill of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D has been successful enough that Disney is extending the run from the original two weeks to a full month.
Based on the trailer, Toy Story 3 can't get here fast enough...
