Fortnite Helicopters: Where to find them

Fortnite Helicopters are making a long-awaited return to the battle royale, meaning players can once again fly across the skies while possibly blaring out Ride of the Valkyries over a loudspeaker. While Choppas making a resurgence is a much-anticipated part of the Chapter 2 Remix season, they haven't actually been reintroduced to the island yet, so if you're trying to track them down now then you've started a bit too early. For the latest information, here's what we know about helicopters in Fortnite and when the Choppas will be coming back.

Although we know that Fortnite Helicopters are making a return to the battle royale, at the time of writing it hasn't been revealed when they will reappear and what locations they will spawn at. All we know from the official announcement is that we can "take to the skies when Choppas come back later in the Season!" As this season only runs for a month it's unlikely we'll have to wait long for these flying machines, so as soon as they're unvaulted I'll update this guide and the map above with details on where to find them.

Assuming they'll function in the same way that Fortnite Helicopters did previously, once you've boarded one of the Choppas you can use the rear triggers to ascend or descend while pushing the left stick up to move forward, and there's also the usual Boost button for a dash of extra speed. Keep an eye on your fuel gauge, and either visit one of the gas stations to top up when you're getting low or be ready to land, as when it runs out you'll fall from the sky and explode on impact with the ground. Bear in mind that Fortnite Choppas don't have any built-in weapons, though you can briefly switch seats to one of the side rails and fire anything you're carrying in your arsenal, with the helicopter automatically hovering for a few seconds before it begins to drop.
