Fox picks up The Dawn Treader
New Narnia likely to set sail
In a predictable turn of events, 20th Century Fox has decided to co-finance The Chronicles Of Narnia: Voyage Of The Dawn Treader with Walden Media.
After Disney ditched its deal with Walden last month, Fox were widely expected to pick up the film through its Fox Walden department.
Now, reports suggest that if the two companies can work out budget and script issues, the film should start shooting at the end of summer for a Christmas 2010 release.
With Michael Apted still aboard to direct, the project is - ironically - being moved away from the original plan of Fox’s Baja Studio (home of Titanic and other watery epics) because of crime concerns.
Instead, the film will shoot in Australia.
With Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley back as Prince Caspian, Edmund and Lucy, they’ll be joined by new arrival Will Poulter (Son of Rambo), playing Eustace Clarence Scrubb.
