Fox rebooting The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Fox is planning to take another shot at a League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen adaptation, with the long-term goal of turning into a new multi-film franchise.
According to Deadline, John Davis will be producing the project, with Ira Napoliello and Matt Reilly overseeing. The studio had previously attempted to turn the property into a TV series, only for a pilot filmed in 2013 to prove a resounding flop.
Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill's comic-book was last glimpsed on the big screen back in 2003, only to be met with widespread critical indifference. It went on to pull in a disappointing $178 million at the box office, and plans for a number of sequels were swiftly scrapped.
According to the report, the new film will not tie in to the previous incarnation in any way. With nothing very much to live up to, Fox will be hoping for better luck second time around…
