Freddie Highmore joins A Foxs Tale
Bill Nighy, Sienna Miller and Miranda Richardson are also on the ‘toon
After being surrounded by celebrity-voiced creatures in The Spiderwick Chronicles, Freddie Highmore will take his turn behind the mic, alongside Bill Nighy, Miranda Richardson, Phil Davis and Sienna Miller, for cartoon adventure A Fox’s Tale.
Highmore will play a fox named Little Jack, according to Variety . He lives a carefree life in the forest until his dad (Davies) is captured and put to work in a travelling circus.
Gyorgy Gat, a largely unknown (at least on these shores) Hungarian helmer will direct, having co-written the script with Peter Doka. Mike Moran, who has worked on the likes of Time Bandits and, er, Death Wish 3, will provide the music.
It remains to be seen how well this fox holds up against the most anticipated forest-dwelling ‘toon – Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr Fox, which boasts George Clooney and Cate Blanchett in the vocal lead roles.
