The New Harry Potter?
Well, probably not. But there is a new movie teen wizard on the way. Variety reports that Sam Claflin (who we’ll see in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides ) and Alicia Vikander are in negotiations to play the lead roles of Tom and Alice in Warner Bros’ The Seventh Son . Directed by Russian Sergei Bodrov, the film is an adaptation of Joseph Delaney's children’s book (the first in a six-part series known internationally as The Wardstone Chronicles ), about a 13-year-old boy who learns about wizardry from a ghost. Variety reckons that Jeff Bridges is in talks to play role of the spook and Julianne Moore could be playing a witch.
Chuck Finale Has The X-Factor
You, like us, may have done a bit of a double take at the final image in the last episode of Chuck to be broadcast in the States (above), but then dismissed it as an in-joke. However TheDateToday.net has revealed that it was a major clue about the show’s finale episode. After all, with a show that has set new standards for casting genre icons in guest roles, it was only a matter of time before David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson showed up. And yes, they’ll be playing Mulder And Scully, in a story that reveals that Scully once had a fling with Casey, the fall-out from which, 15 years on, is still rumbling on… Apparently Mulder will also be taking the mic with Jeffster for a rendition of Fool (If You Think It’s Over) .

A New Kind Of Zombie
Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov has won a hotly-contested auction for the rights to a zombie movie script called Maggie . According to Deadline , “Bekmambetov will produce a film that has a script by John Scott and vfx wiz Henry Hobson set to direct.” So, what’s so attractive about this project? Well, apart from the fact that it could be dead cheap to make, it does have a new twist. Instead of becoming a zombie almost instantly after being affected, in this movie, it’s a long, painful process that takes months. The film concentrates on Maggie as she goes through the transformation, and the effects it has on her and her family.
