Friends reunited

Wednesday 29 March 2006
Xbox.com, Microsoft's official homepage for all things Live and 360, now allows gamers to add or remove friends without having to reach for a joypad. Found someone who seems to love the same games as you while browsing online profiles? Add them to your list of buddies there and then.

It seems like a minor upgrade, but it's an important one, allowing players to expand or manage their friend lists without leaving the online community itself, instead of having to swap gamertags with face-to-face friends or having to find good people through online play.

Above: See? It's a tiny little detail, just below the Gamercard, but a welcome one

With Microsoft's upcoming USB camera and 360's capacity for online chat, this move allows Xbox.com to become even more of a meeting ground for people who want to hook up with others for a private natter.
