Full Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes trailer online
“Put those apes down...”
The first full trailer for Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes has landed online.
After an impressive first teaser, this longer look at the prequel focuses more on the human characters and gives us more of an idea of the film’s plot.
James Franco plays a scientist who’s looking for an Alzheimer’s cure by testing apes. But one ape, Caesar, stars to show signs of sentience.

Boasting decent (though not perfect) CGI and an earnest Franco, the trailer’s second half plumps for an Inception -style blaring soundtrack as all hell breaks loose - and it’s pretty effective.
There are a slew of impressive shots of apes on the loose, as they break out and infiltrate peoples’ homes and public buildings – apparently even the Guggenheim.
It’s this part that looks the most promising, with the 'Us versus Them' conceit amped up to its fullest. Here's hoping it successfully squashes the memory of Tim Burton's dreadful stab at the franchise.
Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes opens 15 August 2011.
