Further delays on The Hobbit?
Jackson is still waiting for his greenlight...
It seems like every story we read on The Hobbit involves a possible go ahead or delay of some variety on the eagerly anticipated project.
Yet according to producer Peter Jackson the stories of its delay are all untrue, because a release date for the movie was never actually officially announced.
Due to the huge interest in the film, newspapers, magazines and even some of the actors themselves, have been speculating dates - yet in spite of this the film hasn’t necessarily been agreed as an MGM ‘go’ project.
Vast speculation on a release date has come from like likes of Andy Serkis - claiming filming would start towards the end of the year - and Sir Ian McKellen who stated it would begin this summer.
Some good news however is that the script for the film, which will be directed by Guillermo Del Toro, has now been completed. And the filmmakers are currently working with the studio to agree on a budget.
No word yet on whether they're going to go ahead with our idea for The Hobbit in 4D though...
