Game of Thrones season 7 leak reveals new cast member who could be playing one of the Ironborn
Game of Thrones season 7 may see the series hurtling towards a climax but that doesn’t mean the show can’t fit in a new face or two to make things extra tense as we reach the final stretch. Possible spoilers follow.
According to Watchers on the Wall, Australian actor Brendan Cowell, best known for appearing in The Borgias – a show not too dissimilar to Thrones – has been cast as Harrag the Ironborn. The actor's agency moved swiftly to remove any possible traces of a Game of Thrones role after it was leaked. Hmm...
Harrag will hopefully put some pep in the Ironborn’s step as they venture further and further out from the Iron Islands. The Ironborn looked to have the wind in their sails (sorry) when chasing down Theon and Yara at the beginning of season 6 but it all sort of ran out of steam by the time the Greyjoys received an audience with Daenerys.
Cowell is rumoured to appear in episodes 3, 4 and 7 of the season so expect a heavy Ironborn presence once the show returns in the summer (or June 25th if you want to believe the gossip).
