Games that haven't changed in ten years
A decade of evolution - squandered
The Legend of Zelda (N64, GameCube, Wii)
When you consider that Ocarina of Time is over a decade old, the series doesn't seem to have changed much in that time. Sure, we had the beautiful cel-shading of The Wind Waker, but that was immediately abandoned (only for DS to pick up to brilliant effect recently), leaving us with Twilight Princess... which is basically the gameplay of OoT with better graphics.
With Okami only really coming close to Zelda's template, it looks like Link's got the market all sewn up. If people want the experience of Ocarina of Time all over again... then why not give it to them? It still works, of course. We're not knocking the game - it rules. It's just very familiar.
Above: Link is still doing what he's always done. Ten years on and still the same brilliance
