Games vs Movies: 20 cutscenes compared
We match up classic games to their film counterparts
The game’s title screen mimics the animated version of Hamlet almost exactly. Glad they painted this iconic scene rather than using a pixilated screenshot from the film. Rafiki couldn’t show off that cub any higher.
Great Scott, Marty! We used an image taken out of context from the movie and applied it towards our terrible Genesis game!
No custom art here. The Jones trilogy utilizes the exact frames from the movie. We’d call shenanigans, but if given the choice we’d rather have real Harrison Ford than a facsimile made from pixilated afterbirth.
Never mind that both versions of Spider-Man Triple are terrible; we salute the developers for nailing the Sandman’s dead-eyed gaze.
Mania renders Mickey’s first appearance almost faithfully on first glance. Look closer and you’ll see that Steamboat Willie in the game cutscene is modeled on the modern version of Mickey seen today and not his old-timey counterpart. Fasternating.
