Inspired by 90s cartoons, roguelike deckbuilding RPG Dimensionals just made an appearance at the Future Games Show at Gamescom presented by Sid Meier's Civilization VII, showing off some of its huge cast of characters.

With a trailer riffing off the likes of everything from He-Man to the Power Rangers, Dimensionals introduces its titular heroes. Heroes like Shork, a massive fish-like friend who makes up for what he might lack in brains with plenty of brawn. Or Shadestrike, who uses his shadowy powers to see off foes. That's just a tiny fraction of the roster, and a minute slice of the number of teams you'll be able to build up.

You'll be able to assemble your team from this massive roster, combining different strengths and hopefully negating weaknesses as you battle together. Of course, heroes are nothing without villains, and there are plenty of world-crushing bosses to test your mettle - and your card combos - against.

Planned to launch in 2024, you won't have long to wait to check out Dimensionals for yourself. Once you get there, you'll be able to play through its campaign, unlocking cutscenes inspired by Saturday morning cartoons, or blast through the Rift, building up ever more-chaotic combos as you get up close and personal with the game's enormous cast of friend and foe. And if you like what you see right now, you'll be able to check out a Dimensionals demo available on Steam right now.
