Customize cute penguins then brawl with your rivals to be the last bird standing in Los Pingheros

While penguins may be universally regarded as cute and relatively harmless creatures, the international reveal trailer for Los Pingheros seen during the Future Games Show at Gamescom Presented by Sid Meier’s Civilization® VII shows that they can also be decent fighters too!

Presented in a unique snowy setting with a vibrant Mexican theme, you'll need to brawl your way through a variety of game modes to secure your title as the ultimate Pinghero. These include the classic battle royale, score attacks, and a Carnival mode turbocharged with powerups to ramp up the action.

To defeat your opponents you need to knock them into the water surrounding your frosty platforms, and the easiest way to do this is by pelting them with snowballs to freeze them into an ice cube then sliding them off the play area. This has the added benefit of extending the platform into that area, but be aware that the ice can also be destroyed from beneath your feet – through explosions, or by sharks and other predators bursting up from below!

You won't be facing this alone, as there is support for up to eight players locally, online, or a mix of the two, whether you want to split into teams or go head to head in a free for all. You can even add bots, if you want to bulk out your custom games or get some practice in before going up against real opponents online. Unlock a selection of clothing, hats, and color schemes as you progress, then head to the dressing room to create your penguin's personal style.

Los Pingheros is currently targeting a Q1 2025 release on PC and Nintendo Switch, but if you wishlist it on Steam now then you can stay up to date with the latest news and playtest opportunities.
